Many providers find the task of researching, comparing and selecting the best documentation system challenging enough. There is added pressure to go paper-less from government and peers. Some providers end up trying to interface their existing legacy practice management or billing or scheduling system with a newer documentation system. There are pros and cons to this approach. On the one hand you have familiarity and continuity of tried and true functionality. On the other hand you have synchronization and technical risks when scenarios or workflows present themselves that test the limits of the interface.

The latest version of the application runs on the well adopted open-source MySQL database. It has a similar user interface capability as Internet Explorer version 7 in that you can run simultaneous sessions on the same workstation and therefore have multiple patients records open at the same time. Raintree’s workflow manager provides a foundation for configuring any patient workflow combined with any data capture or transaction process.

One of the growing markets we are seeing our system being received very well is bariatric surgery. The weight loss industry is projecting high growth in the next few years and there are specific patient workflows and data capture points needed to operate private practices efficiently. Raintree’s practice management core features combined with the EMR templates and workflow manager are allowing practices to implement the best software solution for their specific needs.

Automate your reporting and save time

Raintree has recently released a new module called Report Server. This module provides an easy to learn user interface for setting up reports to be run automatically on the frequency you desire. Many practice and particularly billing services run a series of reports on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis. Unfortunately because the reports are so time consuming to generate and there are so many manual steps involved in getting the report criteria set correctly that there is little time left to analyzing the reports. Without proper analysis the feedback loop to correct or improve operational processes or decrease denials can be lost. Raintree has recognized the need for automating this aspect of practice management. The Report Server allows the user to setup and define reports so that they run automatically at a given frequency and are emailed to a user or group of users as a password protected HIPAA encrypted file. Accelerated Rehabilitation Centers (ARC) is a leading multi-site, multi-state outpatient physical therapy (occupational therapy, and speech therapy) provider.
